Thurston Garden should be brought back to its old status - the place for families and friends to relax.
This is the sentiment of Bua Youths Living in Suva Association President, Merewalesi Tagiveitaua who adds the park used to be a central part of the community.
The Group is the first youth group to come forward this year and lend a hand to the Suva City council in cleaning up the Garden.
25 year old Tagiveitaua said the move by the Suva City Council to rehabilitate the garden is a timely move and the public should help the council.
Suva Lord Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola also revealed that the Interim government had agreed to a $50 000 one - off deal to rehabilitate the Park.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Fiji Visitors Bureau, Patrick wong said this is a very good move for the capital city.
