Lautoka Police are hunting for eight youths who robbed the RB Patel Supermarket in Lautoka of $80,000 cash and $1000 worth of assorted liqour yesterday morning.
Police confirm that the eight hired a 7 seater van from Namaka and upon reaching Saweni they allegedly tied the driver with cables and took off with the van.
At around 9.15 yesterday morning they stormed into the shop masked with 5 toy guns and cane knives and demanded the shop manager of the weekend's takings.
The eight later fled with $80,000 cash and $1000 worth of assorted liquor.
Police also confirmed that the youths changed the number plate of the Toyota Liteace van from CO 853 to FG 18 which is still missing.
No one sustained injuries during the incident.
