Fiji will be joining over 1,000 cities around the world next Saturday in observing Earth Hour.
But some of the youths Fijivillage spoke to are double minded about the event saying it coincides with the Hong Kong Sevens.
Interim Minister for Education Filipe Bole last week encouraged all teachers, students at home and in boarding schools to participate in the event.
Earth Hour celebration is the conservation of energy and the protection of the environment by switching off lights and electrical appliances for one hour.
Earth hour is next Saturday from 8.30pm-9.30pm.
Fiji plays Samoa during this Earth Hour period.
