Youths To Express Meaning Of Xmas
"Reason", a musical play directed by New Zelander Jakki Leota-Ete will see youths from Raiwaqa use their modern day experiences to show the public their view of Christmas.
The play will also see the young group of singers from the Pasifika Voices, singing Christmas carols and old songs with a modern touch, while young groups of people will use the modern dancing called “Stomping” to accompany the songs.
The musical is based on the birth of Jesus Christ and Pasifika Voices Choir master and acclaimed musician Igelese Ete said Raiwaqa was chosen as youths from this area are involved in a lot of trouble and it was time to change the mindset of people.
A total of 50 people will be taking part in the play which will be happening at the Suva New Life Church in Raiwaqa this Saturday.
