Raiwaqa Police are still questioning a 20 year old man in relation to the alleged physical assault of a class 3 student of a school based in Suva on Thursday.

Police have confirmed that the youth was arrested on Friday and is being interviewed by officers at the Raiwaqa Police station.

The girl remains admitted at the CWM hospital.

She was found unconscious inside the school’s toilet by fellow students and the matter was then reported to Police.

Police are also awaiting the medical report of the 8 year old girl.

Meanwhile, Lautoka Police are questioning a 19 year old mother whose baby’s partly decomposed body was found in a compound yesterday.

Assistant Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the baby’s body was discovered by a 9 year old boy who was cleaning his compound.

He alerted his family who then reported the matter to police.

A post mortem conducted revealed that the baby died due to massive blood loss.

The 19 year old woman remains in custody.
