A 19 year youth charged with robbery with violence and resisting arrest appeared in Suva Magistrate Court this afternoon and pleaded guilty to the charges.
The court heard that a 21 year old Lawrence Singh was talking to his girlfriend at Suvavou Bus Stop in Lami yesterday when Anare Buresalei approached him and demanded cash.
When Singh refused to give him money, Anare than punched him on the nose and stole $220 and a mobile phone valued at $297.
The complainant ran towards Lami village and Anare followed him and pulled his T-Shirt valued at $38.
Singh reported the matter to the Police and Anare resisted arrest when Police officers approached him.
He has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 6th January.
