Police are currently questioning a youth of Rakiraki who is alleged to have been found in possession of $1000 Fiji currency believed to be counterfeit bills this afternoon.
Police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said police officers received a tip off that this youth was walking around with a large amount of cash.
Sokomuri added that the youth was taken into custody where police found $100,$50,$20,$10 and $2 dollar bills and the notes did not have the features of the legal tender.
Police are currently questioning the youth.
