Samabula Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth of Jittu Estate, Vatuwaqa for allegedly stealing more than $25,000 from his father, who is a businessman.

It is alleged the son stole the money and later shared it with another friend who is currently on the run.

According to police a large sum of stolen money is still missing and they are looking for the boy's friend, with whom he shared the money.

Police are also calling for information from members of the public.
