A 22-year-old unemployed youth appeared before Justice Nazhat Shameem today charged with the murder of a 28-year-old carrier driver.

Niko Bolavagone is alleged to have involved in the death of Ravin Prakash at Muaniweni, Naitasiri on 21st May, 2006

Divisional Commander Eastern, SSP Emosi Baleinuku took the stand today as a witness and told the court that Niko's father was with his son on the day of questioning and had told his son to tell the truth resulting in Bolavagone admitting that he killed the Indo Fijian man.

Baleinuku said he questioned the accused as to the reason of the murder, to which Bolavagone said he was given $300 by another Indo Fijian man to kill the man because he did not marry his daughter.

The case continues this afternoon.
