The Fiji Islands Maritime Safety Administration is encouraging youngsters to explore employment opportunities offered in the maritime industry.
Principal Marine Officer Captain Pauliasi Vakaloloma said FIMSA wanted to create an awareness of opportunities available in the industry for maritime profession.
Vakaloloma added one other obstacle faced by those wanting to expand their maritime skills is the lack of courses at the higher learning institutions.
Meanwhile World Maritime Day celebrations scheduled to kick off the 24th of September next week.
