The rapid rise of young All Blacks halfback Aaron Smith will take another step up when he starts in his first Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup match tomorrow night.

The 23-year-old’s bullet-like pass and impressive organizational skills has seen him go from Super Rugby second stringer at the Highlanders to first choice number nine for the All Blacks biggest Test of the season.

Smith is likely to come up against the sternest competition of his budding career against the Wallabies where he will line up against the premier scrumhalf in world rugby Will Genia.

With the might of the All Blacks forward pack in front of him, the former hairdresser holds no fear for his Australian opposite and believes he is capable of causing Genia a few worries himself.

The Wallabies will host the All Blacks at 10:05pm tomorrow.
