You need a permit-Interim PM
That's the message to the Viti Landowners and Resource Owners Association President, Ratu Osea Gavidi from Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
Following the confirmation by Ratu Osea that he is organising the 222 chiefs of the Bose Ni Turaga to meet about the Qoliqoli Bill, the proposed dereservation of native land in the Doctor Krishnamurthi report, mahogany harvesting and the returns to the landowners for the usage of their resources, Bainimarama said there will be no meeting unless a permit is granted.
Commodore Bainimarama has stressed that the Bose Ni Turaga cannot go ahead unless they get the permit approval from the interim government, as the meeting will be seen as a public rally.
However Ratu Osea Gavidi maintains that it is their right to meet as they will be discussing issues in relation to their property.
