The travelling public has the right to pay taxi fares minus fifty cents if taxis have not recalibrated their meters to the new rate.
This is the advice from Land Transport Authority (LTA) Media Liaison Officer Eroni Volavola, who said the deadline for all the taxis around the country to have their taxi meters recalibrated comes to an end today, and consumers are allowed to exercise their rights and pay according to the new rates.
Volavola said only a small number of taxi operators and drivers were coming for the adjustments and they are not responsible for the rush if they have not been able to have their taxi meters recalibrated.
