Yellow Ribbon Project Ends
Those were the closing words of Commissioner of Prison, Iowane Naivalurua in the Yellow Ribbon programme at Sukuna Park today.
Speaking to the 1,000 crowd present, Naivalurua said if there is a question on what is the biggest challenge the Prison department faces it is whether a prisoner will be welcome back to the society once he is release.
Naivalurua said most of them have changed when they are in Prison but always return back to what they used to do because their family, society and church does not give them a second chance to prove themselves.
Also present at Sukuna park are the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, Attorney General Saiyad Aiyaz Khaiyum and Commissioner of Police Esala Teleni.
More than 100 prisoners from Nasinu, Korovou and Naboro were part of the Yellow Ribbon programme and they entertained the crowd with Meke and singing.
