Years of enduring water disruptions will now come to an end for the village of Keiyasi some 40 kilometers outside Sigatoka town as the Fiji Water Foundation has come in to assist the village with their water project.
Village Representative, Mosese Tigara said for the past twenty years the village had to rely mostly on the river as a means of water supply as they faced regular water disruptions.
Tigara said as a result of this, students had to miss school and some also got sick.
Fiji Water Director of External Affairs and Trustee, David Roth said it shows their commitment to help the people of Fiji.
Sixteen organisations around the country received assistance from Fiji Water Foundation for 16 development projects ranging from free heart surgeries, building school libraries, training youths as suicide peer counselors and installing clean filters in homes in Fiji.
