Vodafone Flying Fijians back row Peceli Yato believes he has what it takes to play for the national 7s side in the World Sevens Series and the Rio Olympics next year.

Speaking from Clermont this morning, Yato says he can easily switch to the sevens code and can adapt quickly if given a chance by coach Ben Ryan.

A lot of overseas‑based players have shown their interest to play for Fiji in the upcoming Olympic Games.

They are Glasgow Warriors lock Leone Nakarawa, Toulon wing Josua Tuisova, Lepani Botia and Bath scrum‑half Nikola Matawalu.

Ryan has already said that he will only pick his team to Rio based on form and not on reputation.

All the overseas players who have shown their interest are expected to play in some of the legs this series in order for them to be included in the training squad for the Olympics.

Meanwhile, Peceli Yato will be gathering with Noa Nakaitaci and Albert Vulivuli to make a lovo and celebrate Christmas this Friday.
