Fiji born Jerry Yanuyanutawa insists he will not play for the Flying Fijians in next year’s Rugby World Cup if it jeopardizes his ACT Brumbies contract.

It was reported earlier that, Yanuyanutawa had agreed to represent his homeland at the tournament in New Zealand.

But, playing for Fiji in the Rugby World Cup would result in the termination of the final year of his contract with the Brumbies and the ARU, which expires at the end of 2012.

His Brumbies future in the capital would then hinge on the club re signing him as their foreign player.

Such a move would also be subject to approval from the Australian Rugby Union.

Yanuyanutawa said his first priority is definitely to play for the Brumbies and that's where his contract obligations are.

For now, Yanuyanutawa's sole focus is to overcome the dislocated ankle he suffered when playing for Sydney University.
