Yamacia defeated Army 27-7 to win the $30,000 prize money in the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s.

Yamacia skipper and national sevens squad member Semi Kunatani stood out for the side and he is one of the players likely to make the final 12 member team for Dubai.

Kunatani has been included in the 16 member team announced by Coach Ben Ryan along with Yamacia flyer Mosese Mawalu.

Kunatani said he is happy with his side’s performance.


Some notable inclusion’s in the extended squad includes former national rep Pio Tuwai, Nadi’s first five eighth Vatemo Ravouvou, Apisai Domolailai, Emosi Mulevoro and New Zealand based Jona Tuitoga.

Meanwhile, Ben Ryan said that selection has been difficult and the Coral Coast 7s was certainly a tough tournament with some fantastic games to help choose the extended squad. 

The final 12 member team for the next world 7s leg is expected to be announced next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Fijiana beat Marist Seahawks 19-7 in the women’s final.
