An aerial survey of Cikobia Island, the worst fears are over as according to the Commissioner Northern the island did not sustain as much damage as anticipated.
After returning from the survey, Commissioner Northern Colonel Inia Seruiratu said they could see damaged homes and uprooted trees and emergency supplies are now bound for the island.
Seruiratu also confirmed to Fijivillage late last night that they were awaiting assessments from the Divisional Education officer in the Northern division, particularly in Labasa to ascertain which schools in Labasa will be open for classes this morning.
