World Rugby has unveiled the ball that will be used by the men's and women's 7s teams in their quest for glory at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In just 25 days time, rugby will be returning to the Games after a 92‑year wait.
The women of France and Spain will be the first to use the ball when they kick off the first Olympic match since 1924 at the Deodoro Stadium on 6th August.
Bearing the iconic Olympic rings and the World Rugby logo, the ball has been specially developed for rugby sevens, the fast‑moving version of the sport which will be played in Rio.
The ball has a modified surface grip pattern, the handling properties are increased and the distance travelled when it is kicked is reduced. This will ensure that Olympic crowds enjoy a fast‑running game, with the ball passed between players with great speed and accuracy.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister and President of the Fiji Rugby Union, Voreqe Bainimarama is expected to announce the final 13 members of the Vodafone Fiji 7s team on Saturday.
Fiji will take on Brazil in their first game at 4.30am on August 10th, they will then face Argentina at 9.30am before taking on USA at 4.30am on August 11th.
