Preparations are underway in the Northern Division to celebrate World No Tobacco Day tomorrow.
The Health Media Liaison Officer Iliesa Tora said the World No Tobacco Day falls on a Sunday this month however the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health has decided to celebrate it this Saturday while it will be celebrated in Labasa tomorrow.
He said celebrations will also be held in Lautoka on Saturday however the main celebrations will be held in Nausori which will start with a march including various programs.
He said the Health Ministry's survey shows that men smokes a higher average number of cigarettes per day compared to women in the country leading to many non communicable disease such as heart problems, stroke and hyper tension.
