Digicel Fiji 7s head coach Alifereti Dere said players chosen in the 21-member squad for the next leg of the IRB 7s series have a good chance of making it into the World Cup team.

Dere said they will not look for players from outside if the players from within the squad can prove that they should travel to Russia.

He added the squad for the World Cup 7s will be named straight after the England 7s.

Meanwhile, the 16-member Fiji 7s team will be named this Friday after the fitness test.

Dere said the final 12 member Digicel Fiji 7s team will be named next Wednesday for the last leg of the 7s series in Scotland and England.

The Scotland 7s will be held on the 4th and 5th of May where Fiji is pooled with Australia, Spain and Argentina.
