The Ministry of Works and Transport will soon purchase new graders and will stop depending on Private contractors for road maintenance work.
Principal Information Officer in the Ministry, Sainiana Waqainabeta said they have encountered some problems with the private contractors, who were using old machines.
Waqainabeta adds that they have received several complaints from around the country regarding bad road conditions.
She said continuous bad weather has hampered their work but necessary work is being carried out.
