The Works Ministry has revealed that forty two of its employees have been found to be allegedly involved in corrupt practices.

Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqanaibete has confirmed that in the past two years a total of 27 employees have been investigated and duly found to have committed various offences.

All these 27 employees have been terminated.

Currently another 12 employees are still under investigation pending disciplinary action while three are on suspension.

According to Waqanaibete, the allegation against these civil servants is serious.

The monetary value of the corruption cases is worth more than $300,000.

She added that has set up its own internal investigation team made up of investigating officials with police and military background.
