The Works Department are working on restoring water supply to all affected areas in the Western Division by the end of the week.

Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said right now a minor portion of Sigatoka is currently without water as some of their water pumps have broken down and they currently have trucks carting water to the affected areas.

Waqainabete said in Nadi nearly all the areas have normal water supply restored with other parts being worked on today.

She said in Ba, they have fixed the pipes however the challenge they face now is pumping clean water to all areas as silt has seeped into the water storage areas.

Waqainabete adds they aim to get water to at least 30% of Ba by late this afternoon and the whole of Ba by the end of the week. She said there are around 17 water tanks around Ba and the number of water trucks have increased and she urges people to please use water wisely.

In Lautoka, Waiqainabete said by this afternoon all should be well as they have only one area to get back on the pumping line.

In Tavua and Rakiraki, minor problems have been fixed and water supply should be back to normal, however if this is not the case then technicians will work on it as soon as possible.

Up North, Labasa, Nabouwalu and Seaqaqa, Waqainabete said minor problems are being fixed and water supply should be back to normal today.
