Working group commence work today
The first Group to sit this morning was the Committee for clarifying the Respective roles of government, private sector and civil society to achieve stronger growth, greater equity and sustainability.
Fiji Employers Federation Chief Executive Ken Roberts was appointed chairman of the Working Group which consists FLP president Jokapeci Koroi, Retailers Association President, Himmat Lodhia, Ratu Isoa Gavidi, Doctor Mahendra Reddy and Ratu Jo Nawalowalo to name a few.
Roberts when approached after the meeting said he was not going to comment as yet only saying that there is a lot of work ahead of the Committee. However, Group Member, Economist Dr. Mahendra Reddy revealed that they have set initial directions to get work started.
Fiji Retailers Association President Himat Lodhia said there is a sense of urgency within the group to get started with the task ahead.
Other members of this Committee opted not to comment. This afternoon the Group on Development of the Financial Services will sit and consist Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry, Interim Tourism Minister, Tom Ricketts, FNPF CEO Aisake Taito and RBF governor Savenaca Narube to name a few.
