All 47 workers of the MH Supermarket and Homemaker branch in Labasa will not lose their jobs and have been promised a place back as work on setting up a new store begins.
General manager Daniel Whippy confirmed while some staff will be sent on leave, their jobs remain secure.
Whippy also confirmed their estimated cost of damage from Saturday night’s fire stands between seven to eight million dollars.
Meanwhile, the National Fire Authority has confirmed that their report on the cause of fire that completely destroyed the MH Supermarket and Homemaker will be out tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, Acting Chief Fire Officer Tupou Saubuliniyau revealed they suspect the fire started from the bulk store.
