The Nausori Town Council has confirmed they have managed to stop ninety percent of their workers from staging a lightening protest again this morning.

Town Clerk Saten Singh said in a special meeting last night they agreed to look into the worker's grievances and the union will be informed officially about their decision.

About 25 workers went on a three hour lightening protest yesterday morning.

Union general secretary, Kamal Iyer said the workers are not happy with the Mayor, Yogeshwar Singh's directive for them to start work before 7am, the rotational policy is not being implemented by the council and workers doing tarsealing on the road have to work week after week.
