Ninety percent of the workers of Nausori Town Council have again threatened to stage a lightening protest tomorrow if the council fails to look into their grievances later today.

About 25 workers walked out at about 7 o’clock this morning however they returned to work at 10am.

Union general secretary, Kamal Iyer said the workers are not happy with the Mayor Yogeshwar Singh's directive for them to start work before 7am, the rotational policy is not being implemented by the council and workers doing tar sealing on the road have to work week after week.

He also said workers are compelled to open up bank accounts at a certain bank.

Iyer said majority of union members do not want bank accounts as under the agreement their wages is to be given in cash.
