As workers around the country celebrate International Workers Day today, the Fiji Nursing Association has asked the Interim Government not to forget the workers of the country whether they work in the private or public sector.
General Secretary Kuini Lutua said workers do not only provide services but they also contribute in terms of taxes.
Lutua also said post December 5th, 2006, workers rights were denied.
Meanwhile, the Interim Labour Minister said the worker’s rights are protected under the Employment Relations Promulgation.
Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi said the Interim Government will ensure that workers' rights are protected at all times and any unfair treatment will not be tolerated.
