The Greenpeace and the Pacific Conference of Churches have called on people in the Pacific Region to work together to help prevent the drowning of Pacific island countries, due to climate change.

Spokesperson from the Churches, Fei Tevi said that climate change is taking its toll in the Pacific and countries like Kiribati and uvalu are most at risk. Meanwhile, the first environmental refugees we are seeing now are the inhabitants of the Carteret Islands of Papua New Guinea.

Tevi said Pacific Island countries must promote clean renewable energy at their areas.

Meanwhile, the two regional bodies will organize a rally at Sukuna Park on the 24th of this month to highlight issues that affect climate change.
