The Works Ministry is eyeing the completion of the Kadavu and Rabi jetties by early next year.

Works Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the Kadavu and Rabi jetties will cost the government $1 and $1.5 million respectively, and work should be starting by next month.

Waqainabete said while they awarded the tender for the Kadavu project, the tender process for the Rabi project will be advertised this weekend.

She added this is part of their development effort to uplift services in the outer islands and interior places.

Waqainabete said with work beginning next month, the Kadavu jetty should be completed by December, while they are aiming to complete the Rabi jetty in February next year.
