The Fiji Women’s Hockey team is on track in their aim to achieve Gold at the Oceania Pacific Hockey Tournament after they thrashed Samoa 8-nil yesterday.

Team manager Mereia Shaw said the girls have improved from the last time they played, however there are still some key areas they will have to work on to maintain consistency in the competition.

Fiji’s next game is against the Australian Country tomorrow.

In other results from the games played yesterday, New Zealand Maori beat Papua New Guinea 3-nil.

Men’s champions New Zealand Barbarians thrashed Samoa 15-nil.
