The Fiji Women’s Volleyball side made a dramatic comeback to beat Samoa 3-2 in their opening match at the Oceania Zonal Championship in Wellington last night.

Fiji lost the first 13-25 and third set 14-25 but had good wins in the second set 25-17, then 25-21 in the fourth set before taking out the fifth set by 15-10.

Anaseini Seniloli of Fiji dominated with 25 points, with Rosalini Dalituicama chipping in with 17 points and Rebeka Lasaqa with 11 points.

The winner of the women's competition will advance to the second round to be held in Kazakhstan in June for a ticket in the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship.

Meanwhile, Fiji Men's Volleyball team is also taking part in this championship and will play their opening match tomorrow.
