The next 16 days will see women's rights at the forefront of issues as women around the world will have these 16 days to campaign against and raise awareness on gender violence.
Fiji Women's Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali said this campaign was conceived 16 years ago as a global campaign which eventually made its way into the pacific.
Ali said that these 16 days are about raising awareness on violence against women, doing workshops, running media campaigns, lobbying governments, advocating on behalf of women and children, trying to change laws and bring about better policies that are protective of women and children and basically trying to help men change their behavior through men's group work on violence against women.
