Women should be involved in all decision making processes in the villages.
This is what Stephanie Zoll, the Adviser Community based Disaster Risk Management for SOPAC believes in.
Zoll said she has visited many villages to cover Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment and found that women played a major and very active role in the village.
However she said the sad thing was that these women were not involved in decision making for village development.
Zoll said this issue is very sensitive and changes will not come about overnight.
Zoll made the comments at the Gender, Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change workshop organized by the UNDP and the Social Welfare Ministry.
