Woman’s body found under Bridge
The woman in her early 20's was last seen drinking rum with some boys from a settlement in Navosa near the river and her body was later discovered trapped under the bridge.
Police are yet to identify the woman and are appealing to members of the public especially those in Sigatoka and surrounding areas for information on her identity.
The body is now at Sigatoka hospital awaiting a post mortem.
The group of boys who were drinking with her has been questioned and released pending investigations.
Meanwhile, police are calling on the members of the public to refrain from crossing flooded rivers.
This comes after a 40 year old woman of Ba drowned while trying to cross Navala River yesterday.
The deceased was returning home with three other women when they decided to swim across the river. While the other three managed to swim across the other side, the deceased was swept away by strong currents.
The body was discovered yesterday afternoon.
