Women and children are expected to be the most affected if Pacific countries do not find a way to tackle the global financial crisis now.

UNICEF Chief of Policy, Advocacy Planning and Evaluation Dr Will Parks said with projections that a further 50,000 people in the Pacific will be affected by the global financial crisis if nothing is done, the sad reality is that women and children will be mostly affected.

Parks said the upcoming "The Human Face of the Global Economic Crisis" conference to be held in Vanuatu next month, will look at whether previous resolutions on addressing this issue have been followed through.
