A 28-year-old woman is still admitted in a serious condition at the CWM hospital after she was brutally assaulted by her husband at their home in Tailevu last week.

Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the woman who is unconscious following the incident is still in a Coma and on life support machine.

The husband who is a farmer has been questioned by Police. It is alleged the man punched and kicked his wife following a domestic dispute this week.

Meanwhile, a Primary school student of Labasa who was allegedly beaten by her teacher with a blackboard ruler is also still admitted at the CWM Hospital.

According to Police the teacher will be questioned once they get the detailed medical report.

The student was airlifted to Suva from Labasa hospital after her condition deteriorated.

It is alleged the teacher beat her after she failed to answer some questions.

It has also been established that the child vomited blood soon after she was beaten by the teacher.
