Police are questioning a 43yr woman of River side, Nausori for allegedly selling liquor without a license from her house.
Police executed a search warrant and raided the house of the self employed woman yesterday afternoon.
Officers managed to confiscate seven cartons of beer together with some other stuff.
Assistant Spokesperson, Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the woman was under surveillance for some time, as they are trying to clamp down on people practicing black markets and those who are selling liquor after hours.
Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the illegal sale of liquor not only contributes to an increase in violent crime but also leads to domestic violence where innocent women and children are either sexually or physically abused.
