The 26 year old driver who allegedly hit another vehicle, claiming the life of a 39 year old woman remains in police custody.

This is according to police spokesperson Ana Naisoro who also confirmed that the 26 year old was also treated today for injuries sustained from the accident.

Naisoro said that three teenagers who were passengers in the victims car remain admitted while one has been released.

A post mortem is also expected to be done next week.

Meanwhile the fatal accident occurred early this morning at the Ratu Dovi Rd junction at Laucala Beach.

It is alleged that while coming from Nokonoko Road the 26 year old driver hit the vehicle driven by the 39 year old woman of Brisbane Australia.

The 39 year old driver and her passengers were all conveyed to the CWM Hospital where the driver was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile the road death toll currently stands at 14 compared to 15 for the same period last year.

Woman loses life, 4 teenagers in hospital after accident 
 
A 39 year old woman lost her life, while four teenagers are still admitted in hospital, following an accident at Ratu Dovi Road Junction, Laucala Beach last night.

According to police the 39 year old woman of Brisbane, Australia was driving towards Nadera when her vehicle was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 26 year old woman coming from Nokonoko Road.

The 39 year old driver and her passengers were all conveyed to the CWM Hospital where the driver was pronounced dead on arrival.

Currently admitted and under observation at the A&E Ward are a 15 year old student of Lami, a 14 year old of Nadera, 15 year old of Caubati and a 14 year old student of Australia.

Police also confirmed that the 26 year old driver is now in custody at the Valelevu Police Station.

Investigations continue.

Meanwhile the road death toll currently stands at 14 compared to 15 for the same period last year.
