A 37 year old woman died instantly while three other are in critical condition in the Lautoka hospital after the car they were in, collided head-on with a 5 tonne truck in Wairabatia, Lautoka this afternoon.

According to Lautoka Police those admitted in hospital also includes the driver of the private car.

The car was travelling towards Nadi while the truck which was loaded with concrete blocks was going towards Lautoka.

Police believe the driver of the private car lost control and went into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with the truck.

Police are questioning the truck driver.

Meanwhile, a 15 year old boy is admitted at the Rakiraki hospital after he was hit by a carrier yesterday afternoon.

Police are looking for the driver who fled after the scene of the accident.

Police have the identity of the driver and he is expected to be arrested soon.

The boy sustained serious injuries.
