A woman in her 30's in the Northern Division has been charged for allegedly setting fire to the Seaqaqa Post Office.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says a team of officers from the Criminal Investigations Department headquarters in Suva are currently in the Northern Division to investigate the case.
Naisoro says the woman has been charged with one count of theft, one count of money laundering and one count of arson.
She says that it is alleged that the former Post Fiji employee had stolen more than $40,000 and had been sending the money overseas not realising she was getting caught in an online scam.
When she failed to get her money back, she allegedly set fire to the Post office to cover her tracks.
She is currently in custody and will be produced at the Labasa Magistrates Court on Monday.
