Woman Fights For Life After Assault
According to Police, the woman who is unconscious following the incident is still in a coma and on life support machine.
The husband who is a farmer is being interrogated by officers at the Korovou Police Station.
It is alleged the man punched and kicked his wife following a domestic dispute this week.
He is expected to be charged soon.
Meanwhile, a 30 year old father of 5, Jekesoni Yavala Junior charged with alleged murder of his wife was denied bailed this afternoon.
No plea was taken and Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka denied him bail saying that he is facing a very serious charge.
While applying for bail, Jekesoni told the magistrate that he has five children and he needs to look after them.
The alleged incident took place after a domestic dispute.
He allegedly punched and kicked her and later struck her with a Toshiba torch.
The post mortem report showed that the woman died as a result of a broken skull and ruptured liver.
