A 33 year old woman appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with the alleged murder of her de-facto husband at a motel in Waimanu road Suva on Tuesday night.
Mereoni Koroi appeared before Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku however no plea was taken and Magistrate Katonivualiku has transferred the case to the High Court taking into consideration the seriousness of the allegations.
DPP lawyer, Jojiana Cokanasiga asked for Mereoni to be ramanded in custody as the case has generated high public interest.
Magistrate Katonivualiku has ordered Koroi to be remanded in custody and the matter will be called in the High Court on the 28th of this month.
Meanwhile, the post mortem of the deceased earlier today revealed that the man died of excessive blood loss due to stab wounds on chest.
