NZ Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters has issued a warning to Commodore Frank Bainimarama's interim government not to underestimate the power of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
Peters told ABC Pacific Beat that the Forum is not powerless and the Forum is contemplating withdrawing major regional institutions in Fiji if the interim government continues to underestimate the Forum.
