South Africa’s coach Paul Treu believes that winning the first tournament of any IRB sevens series will boost his side throughout the series.

Treu has named his squad of 16 with the inclusion of promising wing, Tshotsho.

Mbovane was hugely impressive when he made his Sevens debut as a teenager for South Africa but has since been sidelined with a knee injury.

Treu said that he was inspired by the brave performance from the Fiji team in the final of the Gold Coast Sevens last year.

South Africa will be pooled with New Zealand, USA and Canada.

Meanwhile, the national sevens team arrived in Australia yesterday and will have their first training run today.

Fiji will play Scotland in its first pool match at 2:42pm this Saturday.
