The whole of Suva and the surrounding areas will have an effectively good coverage by the end of the year with the new Wimax network launched yesterday by Unwired Fiji.
Unwired Fiji Executive Director William Parkinson said this will allow customers to access the internet using a variety of modems plus providing Unwired Fiji with the ability to deliver different levels of service ranging from the home users to high end corporate users.
Parkinson added the Wimax fourth generation (4G) is affordable for operators with smaller operations.
This is the first phase which is a $2.6 million development project for Unwired Fiji.
