Sonny Bill Williams today walks away from his incredible two year stint in New Zealand rugby with a World Cup, Bledisloe Cup and a Super Rugby title.

It has been revealed that Williams will not be named to play for the All Blacks in the Bledisloe Cup after his Japanese club Panasonic asked him to begin training with the team in two weeks - the same time as the Test against the Wallabies in Sydney on August 18.

Sonny Bill Williams bows out with a phenomenal record, scoring the final try as the Chiefs defeated the Sharks 37-6 to claim the 2012 Super Rugby premiership in Hamilton last night.

It's understood that Williams's contract with the NZRU expired after last night's match, so they will not select him for the All Blacks squad.

Williams will have a 12-game stint with Panasonic and then his sixth professional heavyweight boxing bout before his expected return to the NRL with the Roosters next year.
