Wife of 23 year old deceased Malakai Ratubuli, who died after being buried under 100 tonnes of grain at Walu Bay yesterday has claims that her husband's life could have been saved if authorities had taken quick action rather than taking eight hours to remove him body from the debris.
Lavenia Ratubuli told Fijivillage News that she still cannot believe her husband has passed away and rescue efforts should not have taken eight hours.
She said she could not explain to her 2 year old daughter this morning that her father was no more.
Meanwhile, Flour Mills of Fiji is ready to assist the family of Malakai Ratubuli and Managing Director, Sanjay Punja said he contacted Ratubuli's wife this morning who was very emotional, and he said he will visit the family tomorrow to offer his assistance.
Doctors at the CWM Hospital have told police that post mortem examination on Ratubuli will be conducted tomorrow.
Investigations into the incident continue.
